Dhaka Training August 2015

New training materials are being piloted in Dhaka, Bangladesh by the INGENAES training team of Kathleen Colverson (University of Florida) and Jan Henderson (private consultant) to integrate gender and nutrition into agricultural extension systems. The three day workshop, held at the August 4-6 at Hotel Lake Castle in Dhaka, Bangladesh, has many diverse organizations in attendance, including private sector, government agencies and NGOs who work with women and men farmers.

Participants are learning new tools and approaches to engage communities in examining power relations within households, intra-household consumption patterns and how agricultural value chains are affected by gender inequities. The workshop will be repeated in Khulna, Bangladesh and any revisions made before the materials are made available on the INGENAES website.
